A birthday is an important day in someone's personal year. Make it special with a Birthday Blessing ritual. This can be a solo ritual or incorporated into a social gathering.​ You will reflect on your past year, including the high points, low points, and any major challenges. If this ritual is performed with a group, you may share these out loud and invite others to add their thoughts. Then, we will express gratitude for the gift of your life and the year that has passed, for all the joys and all the lessons. A smudging ritual will follow. I will gift you one cleansed crystal, and you will dedicate it to the new year with your wishes. I will invite you to write down your hopes and wishes and say them out loud (if you feel comfortable doing so). If other people are attending the Birthday Blessing ritual, they can participate by giving you wishes and encouragement for the year ahead. Expect this to be a spiritual experience that I will guide you through, adding a special touch to your birthday. After this peace time, you will be able to proceed with your usual celebration!
